How far can you go?
The routes
All routes are circular, starting and finishing in Leighton Bromswold. You will cycle from village to village on beautiful, quiet country lanes.
To make sure there is an opportunity for everyone to take part, no matter their age, ability or experience, we are offering 6 fully signed road routes and a 2 mile route for the very young ones.
Routes:
Please note: All cyclists must wear a helmet and carry a water bottle. There will be a feed station or two on the longer routes and the routes have been planned to include villages with shops, cafes and pubs where possible. We would still urge you to carry enough sustenance to get you round your chosen route and suggest carrying a small amount of cash and a mobile phone. Support vehicles will be available if it all goes wrong, these can be summoned by a phone call.
Start times
Start times are staggered according to the distance. The longer routes allow for refreshment stops at cafes or pubs.
Bromswold Bike Fest is not a timed event/race. Its about having fun with your friends or family and raising money for a good cause; you decide the pace you wish to ride and how many stops you want to make. We anticipate most cyclists will complete their route between 1.00 - 3.00 pm.
Final tuning for your bike with the Bike Doctors!
If you have any problems with your bike, or simply want to give it the best chance of going the distance on the day, there will be a pop-up Cycle Clinic on the Green (outside The Green Man, Leighton Bromswold) from 10.00 am, Saturday 3rd September (one week before the event). The Cycle Clinic, sponsored by Pedal Barn, will also be available on the day for any last minute adjustments.
Any parts required will be charged at cost and we would ask that you make a donation to the charities for the labour.
